The executive board of the El Dorado County Fire Safe Council made the difficult decision to suspend the chipping program.  No new applications will be accepted.  Applications that have a job number assigned will be completed. The program is currently funded by a grant from CAL FIRE and the grant dollars have been nearly depleted.  The homeowner insurance crisis, El Dorado County Vegetation ordinance and the COVID-19 stay at home order have contributed to an unprecedented increase in demand for the program.  Our all-volunteer staff are aggressively seeking additional funding sources from our collaborators and will reopen the program as soon as additional funding is secured.
